EARLY CHILDHOOD: Jesus was born in Vera, Texas. He is the eighth of ten children born to Rosalio Valladarez and Maria Bonifacia Godina. His father, Rosalio Valladarez died at an early age when he was a child. It was during this time that the family moved to a farm about 6 miles outside of Knox City, TX. Eventually moving into town about 19xx. His mother, Maria Godina Valladarez died in Altus living her last days with a daughter Gregoria (Golla) Valladrez Nunez. He spent most of his growing years in the Rhineland/Knox City, Texas area, working as a farm laborer with the family.
EDUCATION:Jesse formal education at Knox City ended at the third grade. His mother provided additional education.
MILITARY: Jesse served as an infantryman in the US Army during WWII. He was drafted in 1945. Went through basic training at Ft Hood, TX. After that, he was shipped to Ft. Riley Kansas, a base in Virginia, then on to France, and Germany. He was released from active duty in 1946.
CAREER: Growing up Jesse was a field hand working at hoeing and picking cotton, etc. In 1953, after getting married he moved to Wichita Falls and worked in the construction industry. In 1954, he went to work as migrant worker, to Colorado in the beet field, and potato fields in Oregon. His Mom and younger brother Leo accompanied him. He moved to Dallas in 1955 and started working on building construction. He worked at his profession until ____ when he retired. He suffered a stroke in October 5, 1997.
OTHER ACTIVITIES: Jesse enjoyed being a baseball coach for the "Mets" team at St Teresa Catholic School. He also enjoyed volunteering at the church helping in whatever capacity he might be needed, helping with the census, visiting members, etc. Also did volunteer work at St Agustine Private School and at the public school.
MARRIAGE: Jesus met Maria Del Refugio (Cuca) through her brother Jesus. They were married in August 7, 1954 at Rule, TX.
